Hey, it was great meeting you! I'm glad you were able to come, and your con report is fantastic.

There was no one there who wasn't just basically a Great Big Geek at heart. The fact that someone a professional writer didn't mean they suddenly weren't a fan themselves, anymore. In fact, the professional writers were now ultra-fans. They were there because this is where a fan would want to be. It felt like being *home*. I hadn't realized how much I missed that feeling until the Hugos.

I ended up missing the Hugos, but I really got this feeling too off the whole con. I hadn't been to a WorldCon since 1997, and I didn't realize how much I missed that feeling of being in a giant community.
