Yah... but what Rice is saying here is that all interpretations that are not "Anne Rice is a mindboggling genius" are WRONG and a PERSONAL AFFRONT.

So it's Anne Rice who thinks there's blame to be assigned, here. flummery I thought was more pointing out that the writer, heavens, is fallible.
