Because yeah, that's exactly it. I love the Doctor to bits, and have for 30-odd years now, but dude -- he ain't human, and his agenda is not our agenda, no matter how much he likes us. You get flashes of that coldness and arrogance and sheer power/danger in all of his incarnations, but Ten can just be completely out of control sometimes, and... yeah. He really is the Oncoming Storm, for all his charm and whimsy.
And hah, you expect sympathy for a few days of earworming? We've been listening to the damn thing since the first week of April -- in the thick of the vidding, I woke up singing it in my head every. damn. morning. Heh.
