Yeah, for the Phillips, there just seem to be certain eps--and I've found that these eps vary even within encoding group and source: ie SGA 1x03 won't play but SGA 1x08-22 will or FMA 22 skips but 23-30 are fine, and I've tried to burn just the problem eps to a sep disc and still no luck. And I can't identify one consistent trait all the problem eps share versus the encodes that play fine. So now I just re-encode the few that hiccup with tmpenc like I normally would before I had this player.
A huge bonus for the Phillips, in my opinion, is that it is so easily made multi-egion. Seriously, all you do is open the disc door and punch in 7,8,9, ok on the remote. Or maybe it was 7,8,9,0 ok... whatever it was, it was insanely simple.
I am considering the Norcent as a second player, though.
