Cool breakdown; it pretty much sums up why I don't like the show, though. I don't need the characters to be perfect -- it's best if they're not -- but I need someone at least slightly sympathetic to identify with, or I'm outta there. And Goren certainly isn't it. Blecch. Fascinating, yes; but for me, not watchable.
FWIW, though, SVU has become much better over the last couple seasons; I didn't care for it at all at the beginning, either, but I catch it whenever I can, now. If the sex crimes don't turn you off of it, I'd recommend giving it a second chance.
