I ended up here from... er, someone on my flist linking to the post. This is really funny. I have had so many conversations like this with my mother that I've lost count. My parents are both lovely people with many fine qualities, but the 90-minute over-the-phone orderform walkthrough at amazon.com did me in. Now I just keep their credit cards on file on my account and send them what they want and everyone's happy. That, and I moved 2000 miles away so I only have to fix their shit once a year or so. :) My parents and yours should form a support group.
