This more often tends to be my viewpoint, too -- although I can understand how it is equally valuable to get writers to realize the "did you communicate what you meant to?" problem. Getting any artist to realize that, once the work leaves them, they have no control over how it is consumed, is a separate problem -- but one that Anne Rice, apparently, also suffers.
