Our Vividcon Premieres vid is up now:
Vid title: Handlebars
Song artist: Flobots
Fandom: Doctor Who (2005)
Vidders: Seah and Margie (Flummery)
Vidder website: http://flummery.org
Summary: I'm the Doctor. Look me up.
Notes: Thanks to
merryish for the all the help, and especially all the baking, without which this vid probably never would have been finished in time. (she made us say that -- but it's true anyway.)
Right-click to download: http://flummery.org/handlebars/handlebars_dw_flummery.avi
There's a streaming version up on our imeem (http://flummery.imeem.com), but it's a little stuttery in spots and we're not sure why. Hopefully we'll get it figured out and fixed soon.
Imeem went boom, so we put a streaming version up on our site, which you can watch there or here:
ETA April 17, 2012: Our streaming vids are temporarily offline while we look into a technical issue. Sorry! The download still works, and we'll get the streaming version back up as soon as we can.

Date: 2008-08-23 01:45 pm (UTC)By the time I got to the end of this vid, it didn't look that way at all.
The clips were perfect, the timing was excellent, and the way it escalated so subtly that you almost don't notice...that is the way the Doctor's been portrayed in the new series, to me (at least Ten), and it's brilliant and terrifying. Excellent vid.

Then I moved on to more coherent analysis:
That was fucking brilliant.
I can't grow up to be you, so I want to grow up and become one of your vids. Because then I'll be: brilliant, beautiful, perfectly timed, interesting and entertaining at the same time, and *fucking awesome*.

Date: 2008-08-24 07:05 pm (UTC)And I kinda live under a rock, musically speaking, and love it when I find songs that I clearly need to go get **right now** through someone else's art, so thanks!

Date: 2008-08-24 07:23 pm (UTC)Thought you might like to know (if you don't already) that it's been linked to by Paul Cornell at his blog here (http://paulcornell.blogspot.com/2008/08/worldcon.html), who seems impressed. Nice one!

Date: 2008-08-24 10:51 pm (UTC)Because the Doctor really is that awesome. And he really is that dangerous. And he really is that flawed.
And he really is that awesome.
I didn't know this song before I saw the vid and now I have it stuck in my head. And, I think, inextricably linked to the Doctor. Well done.
